Igudesman’s music is published by Universal Edition and includes Style Workout, two books of duets for young musicians entitled The Catscratchbook, A Fishsummernights Dream and Pigs Can Fly, as well as the violin duet series Klezmer & More, Celtic & More, Latin & More, Asia & More, Miles & More, Mozart & More. Modern Works has published numerous of Igudesman’s songs, including Uruguay. He has also published several violin sonatas, with the first being dedicated to Hyung-ki Joo, the second to Julian Rachlin and the third to Viktoria Mullova. His chamber music publications include Pictures of an Inhibition for flute quartet, Turkish Dance Suite for piano quintet, Take it to Eleven for saxophone, violin and piano, and a String Quartet. His published orchestral works include Winter Polka and Ring in the Classics.
He has written over 500 works to date.
Igudesman writes, arranges and records film scores, often collaborating with the Academy Award-winning film composer Hans Zimmer. Igudesman has composed, arranged and played on The Road to El Dorado, Spanglish and Sherlock Holmes, which was nominated for Best Original Score at the 2010 Academy Awards.
Igudesman co-wrote, with Zimmer, the music for Jealous of the Birds. It premiered in 2011 at the Rhode Island Film Festival, where it won the Grand Prize for the Best Original Score.
In recent years, Igudesman was part of the writing team on Rango, Inception and also wrote and performed on Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game of Shadows. Recently, Igudesman’s work includes playing, arranging and writing on Madagascar 3, The Lone Ranger, 300: Rise of an Empire and Inferno.
Igudesman has written the music for numerous documentaries, namely, Noseland, Wachau, Schönbrunn and Salzburg.
With his internationally acclaimed string trio, Triology, he has recorded several CDs for Sony/BMG, including Igudesman’s own compositions.
Daniel Hope recorded Igudesman’s Lentofor violin, strings and choir for the Deutsche Gramophone. Moreover, Joshua Bell has asked him to write and perform Christmas Confusion with him on his newest Sony release entitled musical gifts.
In 2016, Igudesman has already recorded and published a CD of his own arrangements and compositions called You Just Have To Laugh with Igudesman & Joo and John Malkovich as a special guest.
In the same year, Igudesman recorded and published Fasten Seat Belts, a sheet music book and a CD with his works for solo violin.
Aleksey Igudesman’s compositions have been performed worldwide. As both a solo violinist and conductor, he has performed his own works with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Chicago, Seattle and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestras, the Kremerata Baltica, Zurich Chamber Orchestra, Copenhagen Philharmonic, Belgrade Symphony Orchestra, Virtuosi Italiani, Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Santa Cecilia Orchestra and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, among many others.
Igudesman has been commissioned to write symphonic works by the New York Philharmonic, Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, Teatro Carlo Felice Genova and the Tonhalle Zurich Orchestra.
In “Violins of the World”, Igudesman performed his own violin duets with Gidon Kremer, Pavel Vernikov, Julian Rachlin, and Janine Jansen. This project also featured Igudesman’s poetry, which was recited by Sir Roger Moore.
