Invention & Reinvation
INFO
Format: Aleksey Igudesman & Lucas Debargue
DESCRIPTION
When these gentlemen come together, they begin with pure free improvisation. Unconfined by styles or boundaries, they compellingly and enticingly merge their unique musical worlds.
In an evening of invention and reinvention, these two great artists perform each other‘s music. The repertoire ranges from Igudesman‘s hauntingly beautiful „Autumn Thoughts“ to Debargue‘s „Tango and Incantation,“ a wild musical ride that borrows the energy of rock music without losing the sheer pianistic brilliance of his playing.
Both artists also showcase works from their solo repertoires. Igudesman rocks the stage with his „Eine kleine RAPmusik“ and „Primal Vera“ from his latest book, Outside the Box. Meanwhile, Debargue takes the audience on a rhythmic journey with his highly virtuosic piano pieces, designed to enhance the pulse and groove of future generations of musicians.
The performance culminates in a series of inventive reinterpretations. „For A Lease,“ reminiscent of Beethoven, and „I‘m Feelin‘ Blue Danube,“ where they transform the waltz into Funk, Salsa, and Samba, highlight their creative synergy. This poetic evening, full of musical surprises, aims to illuminate a bright future for classical music, one without boundaries or limits.
